Silver falling back, darn
I was excited to see 16.27 silver this AM. back down to 15.31

Re: Silver falling back, darn
I checked the overnight repo at the fed desk. Nothing strange there. This bop has no juice, and will be short lived. Maybe a short smack down so the ones left on the platform last night can get on board. Expect the ride to continue today ..... :smokin:

The price of silver will eventually surpass what you paid. Patience is a big part of owning PM's. Heck I've got stuff that I've been sitting on for almost 30 years. What's happening this last week and a half is signaling the death of the American Dollar (FRN's). Know this, that 24-25k that you've just invested is safe. It's safe from inflation or more to the point hyper inflation. And if TSHTF, you got plenty to barter with. Hang in there. It may even go lower. At the speed that things are happening there may be plenty more up's and downs before we see stabilization. Maranatha, |

Silver looks fine. Right now is analogous to the 1/06 time frame where silver broke out of a remarkably similar ~18 month base. Below is a weekly chart, log scaled. Note the 1/06 time frame where silver broke above its former 8.50 high. I've circled that time frame as well as the present breakout. It rallied hard for a few months, but it was 2 steps forward one step back. I for one upped my bet with another Mar-08 silver contract this morning on the present pullback. IMHO Silver will be somewhere > $20 by end of next Spring... a basic repeat of winter/spring-06.

Re: Silver falling back, darn
d00d - Let me go one step further than the others - having chatted with you on other threads, and you seem to be a great guy...........calm down!!!
Seriously....................calm down! Breathe! Relax! You are going to be fine.........I PROMISE!!! People who know silver and gold know they are not rides for people who allow themselves to get tense and nervous.........there are profit taking corrections........sometimes people sell to meet margin calls...........when you see these dips, if you allow yourself to get worked up, you'll have ulcers in a couple of years......... BREATHE! Remember you are in this for the long term and long-term there is barely a single financial person left who does believe these metals ae going up a lot further! (Unless they are on TV, then they are PAID to believe something else - or at least say it even if they do not believe it!) None of the fundamentals of PM ownership are changing - the dollar might rally for a few days - but its going down....period.....thats all you need to know.........there's worse on the horizon but it only makes PMs a better thing to own........... Some here rode the 1979-80 bull...........some here bought in a few years back.........ALL of us have seen ups and downs and we know we will see more again........ But in the long-term, it WILL go up again........one day people will be asking how the heck you knew to buy when silver was at the price it is now! People will look up to you for your foresight (before they stab you for your silver - so be careful who you tell..............remember, most murders happen by family members!) For the record - I was mainly into gold - had a 1/4 bag junk and some silver eagles...........bought when silver was going up last spring..........took my average buy-in price way up...........then silver corrected below that average..........my wife (with her 20 oz *lol* panicked)........but he of the junk silver and green monster box and more did not. (This is the same woman who wanted me to sell platinum at $600...and when I remind her of that NOW gets pissed off and tells me to just let it go...........how can I? At $1400+ its hysetrical!) Anyway - in time the silver went up and even her 20 oz are way up...........I told her this morning - with her profit she could take me out to dinner at a very expensive seafood place! *l* My point - tho I am rambling a bit - is that if you do not calm down and relax - the stress and tension will make you sick.............and if you can't handle the stress and tension, then you might consider investing in something else - like valium! BOTTOMLINE - In a year (maybe a few weeks) you'll be so content knowing that, had you waited, you would have paid so much more for that same amount of metal. OH - and a final tip - set a mark........whatever it is - and when silver hits that mark (something reasonable where you know if you sold, you'd be ahead) and stays three days, go celebrate with a special meal or a cake or something. My dealer friends know - with each $50 increase in gold, I have walked in with something special for them.............$850 for 3 days is cheesecake!!! CHEERS! |

I wish I could take it slow, but all this talk about survival and prepare to defend yourself make me nervous. Not you?

Re: Silver falling back, darn
If it so much as touches $14.85 on its way down... WE ARE ALL DOOMED to $7.50 silver forever.
Just kidding. Not really. Ok, maybe. Just kidding. I think. |

Maybe some of you will learn when to take your profits and not wait until the world comes to an end first. Maybe, but I doubt it. |
